Millerton Lake Triathlon - 2012

The Millerton Lake Triathlon took place on Saturday April 21st on the Madera side of Millerton Lake. The triathlon was a great success. It was the warmest day so far, and we had cold beverages in abundance. It was fun to see so many teams come out and participate. It was a beautiful day for both the sprint and Olympic triathlon. Jacob Dodge won the Olympic distance in a time of1:59:00. Second place was by Scott Ramirez in 2:02:52 followed by Mike Gilbert in a time of 2:03:29. By the women, Emmy Hume came out of the water as first lady, and was able to hold on to her lead and won in a time of 2:26:39. Second was Joann Miller followed by Chrissy Jett. Sam Aleman won the Sprint distance in a time of 54:48. Second place went to Nathan Oreizi in 56:22 followed by Eric Blain in 1:00:56. By the women Andrea Samansky quickly took the lead and placed 5th overall. Second place went to Kieran Devere, only 14 years of age, in a fast time of 1:05:59, followed by Shelly Lynn in 1:07:16.

Shaver Lake Triathlon - 2011

The Shaver Lake Triathlon was a great success. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we had a great turnout. The sprint race was very exciting. Paul Stockdale won in a time of 1:08:53, followed by Wesley Green and third came Tyler Hansen. In the women’s division, Shelly Lynn had a great swim, and never gave up her lead after the bike. She finished first in 1:11:31, second was Emily Ament, followed in third place, only 13 years young, by Kieran Devere. The Olympic distance was a 2 person race. Robyn Near came out of the water, first overall, followed by Jacob Dodge. Jacob, only 17 years young took the lead on the bike and with a very fast run for this challenging course won overall with a good time of 2: 13:18. Robyn came in second overall, winning the female division in a great time of 2:24:30.

Millerton Lake Triathlon - 2011

The Millerton Lake Triathlon took place on Saturday April 16th on the Madera side of Millerton Lake. The triathlon was a great success. It was fun to see so many teams come out and participate. What about a team competition – we will be working on that for our next events!

It was a beautiful day for a 400 yard swim, 12 mile bike and 3 mile run.

Jacob Dodge won the triathlon in a time of 53:57. He almost broke the course record from by Ben Regan set in 2009 in a time of 53:32. Second place was by Sam Aleman, 14 years of age in 57:03 followed by Dave Flatfoot in 57:11. By the women, Robyn Nearn came out of the water as first lady, and was able to hold on to her lead and won in a time of 58:58. Second was Lisa James in 1:03:37 followed by Shelly Lynn in 1:07:40. We had a total of 8 athletes this year breaking the one hour mark.

Spring Fling - 2011

The Spring Fling Duathlon was held on Sunday March 20th. It was fun in the mud! Athletes completed the 4 mile run, 12 mile mountain bike and 2 mile run in the rain and mud. Shelly Lynn, seen at the picture, reported that she had a lot of fun during both the run and bike portion of the event. She placed 2nd female overall in a time of 1:41:55. First place was Felicia Gomez in 1:26:30. In the male division, Monte Mitchell finished first in a time of 1:18:49, followed by Aaron Samansky in 1:25:00.

Shaver Lake Triathlon - 2010

The Shaver Lake Triathlon on Sunday September 19th was a great success. We had perfect weather and a great turn out.

Scott Bolin won the overall men’s division in the Olympic distance closely followed by Jacob Dodge, a 16 year old from Reedley. Third was Monte Mitchell from Visalia. In the women’s division Lisa James took home our custom made bear award, followed by Misha Scovill and in third place Sherri Flynn.

At the Sprint distance John Devere, long time triathlete, back from retirement took first place, followed by John Perez and Scott Nelson. In the women’s division Andrea Samansky beat Shelly Lynn and Kieran Devere. Kieran is only 12 year of age and John Devere’s daughter. We would like to thank all our volunteers for making this event possible.
